The Nasha Mukta Bharat Abhiyan - a national initiative focused on achieving a Drug-Free India, was successfully conducted on 13th August 2025 by the Institute of Technology (IOT), Zakura Campus, University of Kashmir. The program was jointly organized by the Health Centre, CIIE, and NSS, under the leadership of Prof. M. Tariq Banday, Director, IOT Zakura Campus. The event was hosted by Dr. Iqra, Medical Officer, IOT Zakura.

A pledge was taken by all participants to remain drug-free and to contribute towards building a Nasha Mukta society. Ms. Nadia Nehvi, a noted clinical psychologist, delivered an engaging and informative session on mental well-being and the harmful effects of substance abuse.
Mr. Suhail Reshi, Dy. SP Traffic, Srinagar, spoke on the potential issues and societal risks associated with drug use, drawing attention to its impact on public safety and youth development. Prof. M. Tariq Banday, Director of the Institute, emphasized the role of educational institutions in creating awareness and fostering a drug-free environment.
The event concluded on a positive and inspiring note, with enthusiastic participation and a strong commitment from all attendees, making it a truly impactful initiative in the fight against substance abuse.
