The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at the University of Kashmir recently organized a one-day technical tour on 20th August, 2024 to the Upper Sindh Hydroelectric Power Station. The tour provided students with a hands-on learning experience, allowing them to explore the practical aspects of power generation and the functioning of a hydroelectric power station. During the visit, students were given an in-depth overview of the station's operations, including the mechanics of hydroelectric power generation, the role of turbines and generators, and the significance of such power stations in meeting the energy demands of the region. The tour also included a detailed explanation of the environmental and engineering challenges involved in operating a hydroelectric power facility. The technical tour was an excellent opportunity for students to connect theoretical knowledge from their coursework with real-world applications, enhancing their understanding of the field. The faculty members accompanying the students ensured that the visit was both informative and engaging, addressing various technical queries raised by the students.
